Volunteering at Kramden

In January, I attended a meetup at Kramden. Part of the meetup, Kramden went over what it did and why. I had volunteered at one of their Geek-A-Thons quite a few years ago. I finally got to one of their work nights.

Each Wednesday is a work night. After an introduction, the volunteers are divided into small groups and assigned to stations. From reviewing monitors for defects to disassembling laptops, everyone had a job. On this night, I worked with the group that went through a checklist against stacks of laptops to ensure they were in working order. With a break for some pizza, a delicious variety too, this was a fine evening of work and conversation. Oh yeah, some folks were quiet, while others chatted through various topics. Nice atmosphere and getting work done.
